An Oompa Loompa

In late August Emily tried out for the play Willie Wonka Jr. She was lucky enough to be picked to be an Oompa Loompa (her dream role) and she was thrilled to pieces! The practice schedule was extensive, Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-8:30 and Saturdays from 1-4. This does not include "tech week" when there was practice every day for 7 days straight!
Emily LOVED every minute! She never complained about going, she couldn't wait to go every night! This weekend she had 4 performances and she had a 5th at a local school in Manchester.
It was great to see my quiet girl on the stage, singing and doing all the right moves! The Majestic Theater gave Emily a wonderful experience and they want to kids to feel like every part is important, not matter how small. The OLs actually were on the stage 6 times, singing every time, and Emily had a little solo!

It took me 30 minutes to do these pin curls, so she could wear that awesome wig

3 of the 4 shows were sold out!

School Fun

Today Emily had her Fall Harvest Party. I went in to help with a craft, decorating cookies, and facepainting. The video is Emily and Sienna doing one of their many morning meeting songs! So far, second grade is "amazing!"

End of the Season

Emily had her last soccer game of the season on Saturday. I have to say, I really enjoy watching little kid soccer. It is fun to be outside, watching a ton of little kids run around, and not to mention a lot of our friends are at the fields at the same time! Emily continued to amaze us this year. She was 1000 times more aggressive than the past two years, even throwing an elbow or two in the process. She scored her fourth goal on the season on Saturday which is four more than she scored last season.... and she is already talking about playing U10 next year. I can't wait!

Citizen of the Month

Emily was chosen, by her teacher, to be the Citizen of the Month for September in her classroom. She was very proud of herself and we are quite proud of her too!

Halloween Party!!

Due to Emily's busy play rehearsal schedule we had to schedule her halloween party early this year. Today we had 12 girls over for projects, tricks, and treats etc.....
It was a good afternoon and as you can clearly tell, Emily is a snow fairy.... again, just wanting to be fancy....

The Polar Caves

We had a very fun day at the Polar Caves last weekend! It was our first trip there and we would definitely return. The caves were a little tricky to get thru, particularly the lemon squeeze, but they were really fun! For Emily, the highlight of the day was getting a bag of "dirt" and sifting it thru the water and finding many beautiful rocks when the dirt was washed away!
