Jazz

When Emily returned to dance in December she chose to enroll in lyrical and jazz. She chose not to do ballet because she did not like the teacher. It is interesting, for me, to watch her in jazz. In my motherly opinion, jazz is not who she is....she is not crazy or silly or willing to put herself "out there" Her personality is more a rule follower, precise, calm, which is what ballet is...an exact science...opposed to jazz witch is open to craziness.....
It is interesting, in a good way, to watch her come out of her shell (a little) in Jazz...
These photos are from rehearsal....Saturday is the big day

Mother's Day

We had a great day in Boston. The weather was amazing, we ate lunch outside, saw several street performers, and Emily did some shopping with her own money. No secret here, I love being a mom to my sweet, sweet girl.

Rick was called into "assist" with both street performances we saw. Here a guy is doing a flip over 4 people, Rick is on the end. Click on the photo to enlarge, it is pretty funny.

Boogie Boarding

At Siesta Key Beach we had a great time with the boogie board Jean bought for Emily! Last year there was hardly a wave, this year they were great!

Sea World Continued...

I never buy cotton candy, but Scott Milne does! Emily was in heaven!
The Munoz trio arrived first and surprised us with a penny book. All over the park there were  machines that flatten a penny and print a picture on the penny as well. Of course this was right up Emily's alley and a huge hit with all the girls!

Shark Teeth

This was the highlight of the trip...looking for shark teeth. Emily and Rick wasted no time getting to it the second we got to Caspersan Beach on Monday morning. The first 2 days they were plentiful, the last 2 days, much harder to find. Emily still came home with over 300.

 The handle sifter is amazing!

Rick would get a good amount of shells, dump in on the boogie board and Emily would sift through it. This was one technique they used
one of the best we found. The teeth are thousands of years old.....thank heavens we saw no sharks, just teeth
the pink sifter was a critical tool also
I was even in on the action quite a bit
